Ellis Bird Farm

We had a fabulous day at the Ellis Bird Farm and learned a lot about different animal life cycles.  There was pond dipping, feeding the goats, touching a real beaver tail, and making nesting boxes.

Rounding to the Nearest 10

We learned a new Math game today called “Rounding Roundup.”  With a partner we rolled 2 dice and created a two digit number.  Then we had to decide what multiple of 10 would go on each side of the number.  Finally, we circled the write answer when we rounded our number to the nearest 10.  For example, if we made the number 84, we wrote 80 and 90 on our answer sheet.  We then circled the number 80 because when 84 is rounded to the nearest 10 you would get 80.

Here is your challenge 3L!

Write 2 numbers and round them to the nearest ten.  They can either be a 2 digit or a 3 digit number.  Good luck and I look forward to reading your answers!

Tower Building

We created towers out of recycled materials in our Building Unit in Science.  We learned that a tall tower needs a wide base for it to be stable and that cutting holes into our towers will also be helpful when it’s windy (fan).  The air from the fan blew through the holes of the towers and they were able to stay standing.
